At their last meeting the WQCC voted to give the oil and gas industry a do-over on fracking waste reuse regulations before common sense rules prohibiting discharge had even taken effect! New Energy Economy, the Center for Biological Diversity, Daniel Tso and Mario Atencio filed a Motion asking the Commissioners to revisit that outrageous decision and deny the so-called "WATR Alliance" petition. The WQCC will meet on August 12th to vote on our Motion.
We want to pack the room and show them that the public, who fought hard at the last hearing to prevent the poisoning of our land and water, are paying attention to this undemocratic and illegal effort to immediately relitigate the same issues. The WQCC meeting will take place in the Capitol Building in Santa Fe in Room 307. They have not yet posted the agenda, but we expect it to be heard first thing at 9:00am.
Can you come? Please RSVP below so we can get a head count and keep you informed of any updates to the agenda. Thank you for taking action to protect New Mexico land and water!
